This magazine advertisement goes for the minimalist approach making it unconventional with no image of the band just the important information of the release of the CD for example release date and title. I don't think this magazine advertisement is very effective however I like the idea of having only the important information on the advertisement rather than it being covered in slogans.
This magazine includes an intertextual reference to Blurs album cover with the image being four parts of each memebers face to create one face which slightly links it to pop art like Blurs album cover. The four face arranged together connotes unity and the fact that they are the band, they are the most important part and they are what this advertisement is all about. I would like to creat a magazine advertisement which does something similar to this.
