Ed Sheeran - Drunk

After planning my music video i found this newly released music video by Ed Sheeran. Recently Ed Sheeran has won two Brit Awards and his poluarity has increased by millions in the last year alone. in this music video Ed is portrayed as being slighty crazy and imagining that his cat is talking to him however you do not hear any speech subtitiles are put up to show what the cat is supposedly saying when it is talking. Here is an example.
This music video inspired me to add subtitles to my music video to show when the bear is talking to the girl which i think will appeal to todays contemporay audience.
When talking about mise-en-scene this video is quite dull which is due to the fact that he is upset and unhappy about his current situation showing his mood is being relfected in the contrast and ambience of the video. The bright lights later on in the music video express vibrancy and happiness with  colours such as red and lialac around the photos of him and his ex conoting lust, love and peace due to lialic being a calm colour. Here is a photo of the coloured lights.
I also really like the editing used in the video for example the pan shot which is sped up making the colours of the lights all blur and merge into one and seeing as the name of my song is 'Lights' i think i would like to add this effect into my music video.
i find this music video very interesting as the it starts with a surreal storyline and then ends with Ed facing reality which i can relate to my music video with the girl splitting with her boyfriend and befriending her childhood teddy bear and treating it as a friend (playing with it, feeding it and sitting with it) however when she see's her ex boyfriend reality hits her again and she forgets about the bear.

  1. Good evaluation of Sheeran's video. Could you be more specific and use a wider range of technical terminology to talk about the editing choices you will make in your own video.

Please also check for spelling errors.
